Currently, I don't know that we have enough players to be able to pull something like this off, but here goes:
The mother ship should be an extremely large ship (that I would be happy to design a model for) aproximatly 3-5 times the size of a Heavy cruiser, move anywhere between 50-75 m/s maximum, have 6-10 neutron turrets, and only 1 super capital destroyer cannon (or something of the like.)
This ship should have no shields, or shields comparable to a queen, but the hull should have around 1B armor, maybe more. To compensate for the nations turret defense systems.
It's a flying nuke carrier capable of destroying stations.
How the event should run, is every day (at varying times), the winning CtC team (for the day prior) should have a mother ship launch from it's nations Capitol. This ship will travel through grey space (as it is far too dangerous for UIT to allow this monster through its own space) all the way to the opposing nations Capitol. Players may choose to escort there nations mother ship, or dock and defend it with the turrets.
Once the mother ship has reached its destination, the mother ship must move within range to the opposing nations capital station (aproximatly 1000-2000 meters) where a warning will be broadcast to a designated channel that the attacking mothers hip is charging its cannons. The delay between arrival and the destruction of the target station should be anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour to allow the target nation to defend themselves.
If the defenders destroy the mother ship, the MS will drop 1000 (or more) Xith to be delivered to the home nation as a bonus to assist with the next round of CtC. The EMP shockwave will disable the border turrets for the national space that the mothership is occupying to create an open CtC opportunity for all players. border defenses will be disabled for 1 hour, and provide an equil chance for both teams to aquire the Xith and help determine the nation that will deploy the next mothership.
If the defenders get there National Capitol destroyed, the station will reappear in an hour, but the prices for all ships, weapons, and trade goods will double for the next 12 hours. Subsequently, the sell price for all goods produced within that nations territory will also be sellable at 1.5X the price it is normally worth, and certain goods will earn a player standing with the crippled nation.
Additional to this, the mothership will be destroyed with the station, but will not drop Xith, as the material will have served as ammo for the super weapon and been destroyed. Mechanically, the mothership will simply vanish after the target station is destroyed.
Deneb conflict will continue as normal, as both nations dedicated war fighting resources are stored close enough to the conflict area to not be affected by the nations Capitol being destroyed.
Additionally, the crippled nation, being desperate and destitute, will allow all players docking rights, with all stations within the Capitol system. Players with hated or below national standing will only be attacked when attempting to penetrate the outer border, but will not be attacked by the turrets stationed at the Capitol border. This provides the critical opportunity for players of the opposing nation to be allowed to betray their home nation, and allow standing to be earned that can be later used as the player pleases.
NOTE that only the nation who's space that the Mother ship is destroyed within will have it's turrets disabled. If an Itani launched MS is destroyed within Itanit space, Itani turrets will be disabled, but if the MS is destroyed within grey space, no national defenses suffer and handicap. Also, if the Iran mothership is destroyed in Serco space, Serco turrets will be disabled to allow Itani raiding parties an equil opportunity to capture the dropped Xith and run off with it to Divinia.
Example scenario 1:
Serco nation has won the CtC period and launches a mothership.
Serco players and serco aligned UIT rush to defend the mothership bound for Itani space, while Itani members go to destroy the mother ship.
The mothership is met by an outbound Itani blockade fleet and is destroyed at the odia-Sedona wormhole.
All ships in the sector are destroyed, and 1000+ cu of purified Xith is left for anyone to pick up and deliver according to standard CtC mechanics.
Event ends with no major change to either nation.
Scenario 2:
Itan nation launches Mothership and successfully destroys Serco capital.
Itani Mothership is self destructed by its own super weapon
Serco suffers extreme economic blow and military chaos. All ships, weapons and goods cost double.
Inner defense turrets are disabled, allowing misaligned players an opportunity to earn standing via the trading of critical goods.wasqsqaws
Docking rights open to any player (though hated an below are still fired upon by station defenses)
Alura, an Itani national interested in earning Serco standing acquires -400 standing, and later earns -200 through a similar even in trading goods with Serco. Eventually, Alura, no longer considered a threat to the Serco Nation, waits for the Serco mothership to be launched 3 weeks later, and uses her standing to begin attacking the mothership early, before it reaches grey space, making scenario 1 a very real possibility.
scenario 3: Itani mothership is destroyed by Serco defense forces within serco space before destroying the Serco Capitol.
All Serco border defenses are crippled, and do not attack incoming hated players, allowing all players an equil opportunity to capture the pure Xith dropped by the mothership. All players in the sector the MS was destroyed in are destroyed themselves to clear the sector. Xith is captured and applied to the score of the nation it is delivered to.
The mechanics can be set up and used with the current player base, but the mothership strength and attributes may need to be balanced over time to compensate for any growth or loss in player population to keep this event exciting.
Also, I leave all of this open as just an idea, and will not take any offense to adjustment ideas or tweaking that others would like to see. In essence, this is a baseline for a massive team oriented combat idea, meant for anywhere between 5-20 pilots to participate.

Are you expecting anyone to read that?
We still need smarter noobs.
I like the idea in principle, but some of the mechanics would most likely need adjusting. Generally, I'm against things that magically disappear or reappear. I think Guild can do better than this. It also doesn't make a lot of sense to me that an EMP shockwave would be able to travel through wormholes to disable border turrets.
Otherwise, this suggestion aligns with the goal of making things more dynamic. Some of the limits seem a bit arbitrary, but that's neither here nor there.
As far as contributing ship design models, you may be interested in reviewing this thread (it's from 2011, so some of the requirements may need to be updated. However, it will give you a general idea of what's involved):

LOL I am not reading that.
If you're going to write that much you could at least write a synopsis of your idea and bold the titles or something so we don't have to read the whole thing.

I read it... very awesome idea. Unfortunately that will never happen in this game. Notice all the small things we've been waiting for for a LONG time? I.e. the skin of a simple fighter is taking months. If you want giant motherships you need to play Eve or make your own game.
Don't mean to burst your bubble so quickly (unlike these other nubs who do like to and who apparently can't read posts longer than a few lines), but you aren't the first, nor will you be the last, to dream big about VO, put a bunch of effort into a post and then have it never turn into anything and get shat on by the regulars.
Cheers! :P

I didn't expect everyone to agree with it, nor really want to read it. I understand that the post was very long, and drawn out, and for that I apologize. It was an idea, nothing more. I'd be awsome to see it in action, but I appreciate the comments for now and will try to make any future suggestion less of a pain to communicate.
@phaserlight: one idea for the turrets being disabled could be the military chaos resulting from the capital being blown up. The point is to give all players an equil chance to obtain the purified xith left over from the destroyed mother ship. It is all very arbitrary because Devs know better how to balance things like this. My post is just a concept framework to be built off of.
And I will certainly take a look at the thread for contributing ships.

You could just have a normal huge military convoy jump through and kill the turrets and if the battle is lost by the defending nation, they just don't respawn until XYZ happens. Makes more sense than an EMP and offers the opportunity for players to help defend their positions.
Sure would be cool to see bigger events and station sieges between the warring factions though.

+1...many ideas from this ....anyway Devs knows...
Dude, an EMP would be epic, both visually and functionally.

I feel that the mesh alone is about 70% complete. Anyone have any suggestions? Currently it's at 900 Polys and 532 Vertices.
Also, I have NO experience in texture mapping, so if anyone wants to tinker with it once the mesh is complete, I'm totally cool with that. I have programs I can use to port it any which way as well.
@phaserlight: Applied to PCC this morning. Thanks for the link to Incarnates post about contributing 3D art!

....maybe devs see it and used it....
If you're making something that's supposed to be a mile long, you're definitely going to want more detail or it's going to look like Star Fox in-game.
@abortretryfail: I understand what you mean about needing more detail, and I do agree. Before I thought it looked a little naked, so I dressed it up a little. I know these new additions looked like oars, or wings, but I figure they should be more like... batteries.
Anyway, enough with the logic!

Still, I'd say the mesh itself is about 90%. Currently I'm sitting at 1110 polys and 654 vertices so I have quite a bit of room to work. If anyone has any suggestions for details, I'd be happy to add them, or some more images from different angles if anyone would like to see more.

Great, the digital equivalent of a short-bus riding kindergartener with a crayon and a sketch pad.
Yeah, Meta isn't much, but it does what I want, for now at least. I'm waiting to find out what the best program to finish with is before I take this too much further. Last word I got was 3DS 7, but that was an old post.
Coming from a slightly more helpful direction:
Are you working from a concept picture? Because, frankly, it looks like you're just going with "whatever shapes look cool at the time" rather than actually working from a fully formed idea. Even if you do have an idea of what it is and is supposed to look like, it's damned near impossible to model and make up the details as you go along.
To be honest, your model doesn't look like anything, really. My advice? Go back, sketch it out (a concept doesn't need to be fancy, it just needs to be there to direct the shapes, details, and (sometimes) colors of the final model. The Serco Prometheus was modeled from that (left side of the picture):
for example.) and start over.
EDIT: Finished a sentence that I forgot to finish.

...also a very good designed Mothership excist into http://vo-wiki.com/wiki/Player_designed_ships.....and the Mothership is the Poseidon :

Heh, Waylon also did a tutorial on texture mapping, complete with familiar VO ship models and textures. :)
