Weapon modifications and upgrades.
Favrewebelieve, while I agree there are many things that are more important in the long term big picture... (economy, faction redux, etc... etc...)... this would go a long way towards customizable ships, which the lack of seems to be a fairly common complaint amongst newer players. taken from http://vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/23371?page=2
One of the problems is the arsenal selection seems more and more limited the longer you play. So, I propose this:
(Some) Weapons have a utility port on the Guns/Launchers themselves. For example:
Neut MKIII has 2 ports that you can assign Weapon Utilities to, say ...
1. .5% speed reduction for target for 4 seconds (30sec recharge)
2. .5% damage increase with energy weapons
Jackhammer has 1 port:
1. .5% increase of splash area
These are JUST EXAMPLES.
Perhaps the top-of-the-line Weapon Utilities are available at higher levels with certain badges.
Now, I know with this will do to lower level vs. higher level combat, and I do not have a solution for that.
If this is implemented, however, it brings more of an endgame along with the excitement of unlocking new stuff to be added on to the redundant weapons available.
It also allows more customization to the style of the pilot, however, I imagine in the long run most setups will be very similar as they are now.

you mean like just take the traditional mmo model of socketed weapons?

sheesh, why not just make each weapon have a specific model, itll add some customization to the ships.
